Fun Kenny Stuff

Yesterday was a fun Kenny day. We were on our way to Petsmart when we discovered that some of the sprinklers were on. Here's what ensued:

Here's the Kennster after his fun in the sprinklers:

So we toweled him off and went to his store, where he promptly found the birdcage:

Happy doggy :-)

Curtis News

Without giving too much away, lets just say that Curtis will be likely doing this:

next year during Mardi Gras!

Congrats babe :-)

(and don't worry friends and family, it's just costumes and throws and fun, no crazy stuff!)

Battle of the Bay Canoe & Kayak Race

On Saturday morning, Curtis and I took part in the first annual "Battle of the Bay" Canoe Race, to benefit the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program.  We raced against other two-person canoes, and did not come in completely last place :-).   I probably wouldn't have posted this, except that there is photo evidence - check out this athletic couple:

And I appreciate that this was taken before the rain re-started (it was raining all morning, really all weekend), while we were still relatively dry.  When we came back from our little canoe trip, lets just say that almost every part of us was wet, and Curtis didn't have much visibility through his glasses the last 100 yards of the race or so.  I appreciated having a hat to cover my face, and a light rain jacket that held up pretty well.

It wasn't much of a race for team Hart, we got off to a bad start and were behind from the get go.  The other Hand Arendall team fared much better.  We've decided that next year we will kayak instead, as we are confident that there were enough boats out there to scare the gators away.  We will also do some kind of training program to actually try to compete, instead of being sore and tired the remainder of the weekend (my triceps are still sore).

But, we both have to say that we had a great time.  The rain added to the adventure aspect of it, it was good to see some work friends with their spouses and kids in a causal setting, and it got us outside on a weekend when we really couldn't otherwise go out for fear of flash floods :-).  Anyway, it was fun, and we're looking forward to the second annual event next year.
